The BondParents
I Still Want Something They Can’t Give
Dear Delyara, I am old enough now to know my parents are limited people. And still, there is a childish part of me that keeps waiting for them to become emotionally different. More receptive. More aware. More curious about who I actually am, not just whether I’m functioning. I know this may never happen. That knowledge doesn’t stop the wanting. Sometimes adulthood is just learning how to live with desires that reality cannot completely satisfy.
