I still want to be emotionally met, not only responsibly cared for
Dear Delyara, I know there is love there. That is not the question. The question is form. Responsible care is one thing. Advice, concern, practical involvement, doing what needs doing — all of that matters. But there is another kind of care that reaches somewhere deeper. Emotional meeting. Recognition. The kind that says I can feel the shape of this on you, not only I can see the problem. I still ache for that second language more than I admit. And maybe that’s what makes some interactions feel sad even when no one has done anything obviously wrong. The practical layer is there, but the emotional layer I keep wanting is still mostly untranslated. That absence is subtle. And lifelong.
