My Diary
I stood in front of the fridge and forgot what I wanted
Dear Delyara, I opened the fridge this evening and just stared for a while. Not because there was nothing there. Because I felt disconnected from wanting. Food, comfort, decision, appetite — all of it felt slightly out of reach for a minute. I think that’s what happens when I get emotionally overtired. Even simple needs become harder to read from the inside. I can’t always tell if I’m hungry, sad, restless, lonely, or just exhausted. So I stood there longer than necessary, half-looking, half-absent, until eventually I made something basic and hoped it was the right kind of care. Maybe some nights good enough is all there is.
