I Stood in the Early Cold for One Minute Before Opening My Phone
Dear Delyara, I’m beginning to trust this small practice more than many bigger promises. One minute. That’s all. Before the school app, before work, before messages, before bank balances and reminders and other people’s voices start climbing into my nervous system, I step outside and let the sky arrive first. Even if it’s grey. Even if it’s cold. Even if all I have in me is one minute of standing there like a tired woman with a mug and no answers. That minute changes things. It does not solve money, or marriage, or fatigue, or the weight of being needed. It softens the entry point. And I think entry points matter more than I used to understand. When my body begins with air instead of alarm, the day sits differently on me. That feels like a real kind of protection.
