I stood in the garden after hanging the washing and didn’t rush back in
Dear Delyara, It only lasted a couple of minutes, but it felt like recovery. The shirts were on the line, the basket was still in my hand, and usually I would have turned straight back to the next thing because there is always a next thing. This time I stayed there for a moment. Cool air, one bird on the fence, nothing urgent in my hands, no one calling me. That tiny pause did more for me than bigger planned self-care often does. I think I need more moments that arrive accidentally and ask nothing. This one did. And I noticed it.
