I Stopped Checking My Email Before Bed And Realised How Much Of My Anxiety Had Been Living In That One Last Look

Dear Delyara, I told myself it was being prepared. Responsible. On top of things. What it was, more often than not, was a final invitation for work to enter my body right before sleep. One last chance for a message, a tone, a task, a problem, a tomorrow-shaped demand to climb into the mind and lie there all night pretending to be productivity when it was really just fear and lack of boundary. This week I stopped. No last look. No final scan. No emotionally loading tomorrow into my body before the day had even finished leaving. The first nights felt strange. Then they felt clean. And I realised how often little habits quietly train the nervous system into stress while still sounding respectable from the outside. This one had. Not anymore.
