I Stopped Opening The Work Email App In Bed And Realised How Much Of My Night Anxiety Had Been Self-Invited
Dear Delyara, I had been calling it being responsible. It wasn’t. It was one last look. One final check. One more scan before sleep. And because work never arrives neutrally anymore, that “one last look” kept turning bedtime into a doorway for stress instead of rest. This week I stopped. No app. No check. No final chance for tomorrow to climb into tonight before I had even fallen asleep. The first evening felt strange, almost negligent. Then I realised how trained I had become to let work into my body at the most vulnerable hour and call it discipline. The sleep didn’t become magical. It did become cleaner. And that is a victory I respect much more than the old habit.
