The AwakeningHealing
I stopped waiting to become my old self and started respecting the one I am now
Dear Delyara, For so long, healing meant return in my mind. Back to the old body. The old confidence. The old energy. The old way of moving through life before certain losses, betrayals, health scares, or years of overuse altered me more than I wanted to admit. I don’t think that’s what healing is anymore. Now it feels more like respect. Respect for the changed body. Respect for the nervous system that has survived a lot and still deserves gentleness. Respect for the fact that I cannot go back, only forward more honestly. That is not glamorous healing. It is practical and daily and sometimes almost boring in its steadiness. But it is real. And it has softened my life in ways the fantasy of “getting back to normal” never did.
