The StruggleAnxiety
I survive too many imagined versions of things
Dear Delyara, That’s what makes anxiety so expensive. I don’t only experience what happens. I experience several possible versions before it happens. The awkward outcome, the rejection, the misunderstanding, the bad timing, the thing I forgot, the thing that will go wrong if I relax too soon. By the time reality arrives, I’m already worn down. And then, if reality is mild, I almost feel foolish for how much I suffered in advance. But that doesn’t refund the energy. Anxiety takes so much from events that never become real.
