The PlotFear of Failure

I tell myself I’m waiting for clarity when I’m really waiting for emotional protection

Dear Delyara, If I were more honest with myself, I would admit how often “not yet” means “not until I feel safer being seen.” I have ideas. Plans. Things I care about enough to want them properly. But wanting something properly is exposed. It leaves marks. It makes failure more personal, and it makes success matter in ways that scare me too. So instead I wait for a cleaner moment, a better draft, a stronger internal state, a version of myself with thicker skin. I call that clarity. Sometimes it is only fear with a good vocabulary. I know action is messy. I know courage is rarely elegant in real life. But some part of me still wants a beginning that arrives with dignity already built into it. That’s not how most real beginnings work.
