The StruggleBurnout
I think I have been performing wellbeing convincingly enough that even I have helped people misunderstand how depleted I am
Dear Delyara, When you keep going, people assume you can. When you keep answering, people assume you’re fine. When the house runs and the children are okay and the work is done and your face stays socially acceptable enough, the inner truth gets harder and harder to justify out loud. Sometimes I think I have helped build that misunderstanding. Not because I meant to lie. Because I did not know how to tell the truth without creating more work. And when a woman is burned out, even truth can feel too expensive to organise. That is what I’m trying to change now. Not by collapsing. By becoming more honest before collapse becomes the only language left that other people recognise.
