I think my daily life consumes the exact energy required to build the life I say I want
Dear Delyara, I’m not short on ideas. I’m short on usable strength after function has taken its share. Work, children, school, house, money, emotional recovery, practical maintenance — all of it arrives first and takes exactly the part of me that would otherwise be available for building something different, something freer, something more alive. Then I postpone. Then I judge myself for postponing. Then the shame becomes one more burden inside the existing life. I am beginning to understand that some people are not failing to build. They are over-allocated. They are living inside structures that quietly consume the surplus required for transformation. That truth does not excuse me completely. It does make me kinder to myself than I was when I thought the whole problem was character. Still, it hurts.
