I think we are becoming a very efficient household and a very lonely marriage
Dear Delyara, We get things done. Bills, food, children, schedules, appointments, practical conversations, tired little jokes at the end of the day. We still function well enough that if anyone saw us from the outside, they would probably call us stable. But function is not the same as intimacy. The reach is thinner now. The emotional handover is smaller. Too much of our communication has turned into logistics because logistics are easier to manage than truth when both people are tired and already carrying too much. Some evenings I can feel how long it has been since we truly met each other instead of simply coordinating a life beside each other. That hurts in a very adult way. Not dramatic enough to justify panic. Too real to keep dismissing. I think loneliness inside marriage is one of the hardest griefs to explain because technically, nobody has left. And still, something is missing every day.
