My Diary

I told my friend “I’m fine” because the real answer was too untidy for a voice note

Dear Delyara, She was being kind. She really was. She sent one of those thoughtful check-in messages that deserved honesty. The problem wasn’t her. It was me not having the shape of the truth ready. Because the truth was not one clean thing. It was tiredness, money worry, one family issue, some private sadness I hadn’t even fully named yet, and that strange sense of being overused by ordinary life in ways that sound petty when listed aloud. So I replied, “I’m okay, just tired.” I hate how often the smaller answer wins because the real one does not fit the available format.
