I told the doctor the full truth instead of the manageable version

Dear Delyara, No minimising. No “I’m probably just tired.” No leaving out the harder days because I was embarrassed by how affected I’d been. I said the whole thing. The tiredness. The low mood. The way I’ve been waking in the night. The fact that some days ordinary noise feels too sharp and ordinary tasks feel emotionally expensive. I didn’t package it into something neat or socially digestible. I just told the truth. That changed the appointment completely. The plan I came away with actually belongs to my real life, not the edited version I usually present to professionals because I think I should sound easier than I am. I’m proud of that honesty.
