The AwakeningMental Health
I Told the Truth Earlier in the Spiral Instead of Waiting Until I Had Fully Disappeared Inside It
Dear Delyara, Usually, when I begin feeling low, I go quiet first. More functional. More efficient. Less available. Less expressive. It can look like competence from outside. Inside, it is often the beginning of me retreating from myself in ways that become much harder to reverse once they have taken proper hold. This time I noticed the early signs. And I told someone. Not dramatically. Not beautifully. Just in time. That mattered. Because it interrupted the loneliness before it hardened. It made room for contact before silence became my only language again. And it reminded me that mental health care often begins not in perfect insight, but in timely honesty. I am proud of that timing. It used to come much later.
