I took my blood pressure seriously instead of treating it like another thing to manage later
Dear Delyara, The pharmacist had mentioned it before. My GP had mentioned it too. I always nodded, promised I’d monitor it, and then went back to living as if my body would kindly wait for a less crowded season to need attention. This month I finally stopped doing that. I bought the monitor, took the readings properly, kept the record, booked the review, and started making the changes that had felt too boring or inconvenient or “not urgent enough” before. There is nothing glamorous about any of it. But there is a different kind of victory in not forcing the body to become dramatic before you believe it deserves care. I wish I had learned that earlier. Still, I’m glad I am learning it now.
