Other VictoriesSelf Esteem
I took the better chair
Dear Delyara, The more comfortable one. The one with the back support. The one I would usually leave for someone else automatically, as if comfort should naturally belong more to other people. This time I sat in it. And while I was sitting there, I realised how much self-esteem is built in these tiny bodily permissions. Not grand declarations. Not affirmations. Just not abandoning yourself in ordinary public moments. It was only a chair. It still taught me something. That my comfort counts even when no one is watching me decide.
