I took the exam while still feeling ashamed of how much older and more tired I am than the people I sat beside

Dear Delyara, That is what I’m proud of. Not confidence. Not even brilliance. I’m proud that I went while carrying shame. The younger people in the room looked like their lives fit the setting better. Cleaner energy. Fewer visible burdens. Less of that adult heaviness that comes from work, money, family, disrupted sleep, and carrying too much life outside the exam itself. I nearly talked myself out of going because shame is persuasive when it sounds like realism. I went anyway. I passed anyway. That matters because it gave me proof against a lie I have been living near for too long — that I am now too interrupted, too worn, too late to begin building new parts of myself properly. Proof matters. Especially against old lies.
