I Took the Medication Properly

Dear Delyara, No skipping. No delaying. No “maybe I don’t really need it.” No trying to prove to myself that I’m stronger or less needy or less dependent than my actual body currently is. I took it properly. That sounds simple. It wasn’t emotionally simple for me. Because care can trigger strange old feelings — weakness, fear, resistance, denial, the wish not to become “someone who needs help.” This week I let the help be help. And that felt like health success in a form no one sees from outside but the body absolutely recognises from within.
