I trusted my own judgment in the room

Dear Delyara, There was a small moment at work this week that felt large inside me. I made a judgment call and trusted it. Didn’t over-explain. Didn’t defer automatically. Didn’t look around the room for someone else’s confidence to borrow before I spoke. I just trusted myself. That shouldn’t feel radical. For me, it did. I think there are career victories that change your job, and others that change your relationship to your own authority. This was the second kind.
