I trusted my own judgment without over-explaining it

Dear Delyara, There was a moment at work this week where I made a call, said what I meant, and did not immediately feel the urge to cushion it with extra explanation. That felt new. I think for a long time I believed competence had to come wrapped in apology, softness, reassurance, or over-clarity from me in order to remain acceptable. This time I let the decision stand on its own. It wasn’t a dramatic moment. Internally, it felt large. I respected myself more afterward. That matters.
