My Diary
I Turned My Pillow Over and Nearly Cried From Relief
Dear Delyara, The cool side touched my face and I could feel my whole body receiving it as if somebody had finally offered me something simple and kind with no emotional cost attached. That sounds dramatic. It didn’t feel dramatic. It felt physical. When you have had a day full of noise, responsibility, mental clutter, family weather, practical strain, and one hundred tiny acts of holding, even the cold side of a pillow can feel like tenderness. I lay there and thought: this is how little comfort it takes to reach me now. That thought broke my heart a little.
