My Diary
I turned off the kitchen light and felt the room finally stop talking to me
Dear Delyara, While the light is on, the room still has a voice. The dishes. The counters. The lunches. The crumbs. The thing left out. The thing to remember. The thing to wipe. The thing to put away. It all keeps speaking. Then I turned the light off. And suddenly the room was only a room again. Dark. Quiet. Not asking. That small shift gave me more relief than most people would probably understand. I think I need more places in my life to stop speaking to me by evening.
