I used my voice at work

Dear Delyara, I spoke clearly at work this week without over-apologizing for taking up space. That might sound minor. It isn’t. I’m used to softening my ideas before they even arrive. This time I didn’t. I said what I meant, calmly, directly, and let it stand. Something in me respected itself more afterward.
