The StruggleHealth

I waited too long to listen

Dear Delyara, I think one of the more painful truths about health is how long some of us are trained to ignore ourselves. I minimized symptoms because I had responsibilities. I delayed appointments because other things felt more urgent. I treated pain like inconvenience because I thought good adults were supposed to endure more than they needed to. Now I’m trying to learn a different relationship with my body. One where I don’t wait for collapse before offering it care. I wish I had learned this sooner.
