My Diary
I Wanted a Different House for an Hour
Dear Delyara, Not a better one. Just one that didn’t know me. No familiar piles. No usual questions. No ordinary evidence of everyone needing and using and living around me. Just one anonymous room where I could sit with a drink and no emotional history attached to the walls. That thought came while I was clearing the table. It startled me with its strength. I don’t want to leave my life. I just sometimes want a room untouched by my roles. I think that is a very different desire. And a very real one.
