My Diary
I wanted a different kind of quiet
Dear Delyara, Tonight the house was quiet, but it wasn’t the quiet I wanted. This was the kind that amplifies thought. The kind that makes memory louder. The kind that leaves too much room around feelings you didn’t properly process while the day was busy enough to hide them. What I wanted was a quiet that soothed. This was a quiet that exposed. Still, I sat in it. Made tea. Didn’t run to noise immediately. That felt harder and more honest than distraction would have.
