My Diary
I wanted a sentence that asked nothing of me
Dear Delyara, That was the exact hunger this evening. No practical point hidden inside it. No request. No reminder. No follow-up. No emotional management disguised as conversation. Just one sentence spoken kindly into the room with no demand attached. I don’t think I realised until recently how much daily life is built out of transactional language. Even loving homes are full of it. Necessary, ordinary, constant. And by the end of some days I am so tired of being part of that exchange system that I crave language with no hooks in it. I didn’t get that sentence tonight. I wanted it enough to notice.
