My Diary
I wanted less meaning attached to small things
Dear Delyara, When I’m tired, everything starts carrying too much. A delayed reply becomes a feeling. A messy room becomes a judgment. A quiet tone becomes a worry. A missed detail becomes proof of some larger decline. The smallest thing starts standing in for all kinds of bigger things. Tonight I wanted to reduce the symbolism. To let a cup be a cup, a message be a message, a messy table be only a messy table. That sounds simple. It isn’t always easy for me. Still, I tried. That counts.
