My Diary

I wanted less pressure inside ordinary minutes

Dear Delyara, Today the ordinary minutes felt pressured. Not the big moments. The small ones. Making coffee. Walking to the car. Waiting for the microwave. Standing in a queue. Brushing my teeth. Even there, I could feel the push of time, the push of thought, the push of what comes next. It made the whole day feel less inhabitable than it should have. Tonight I wanted to reclaim a few ordinary minutes and let them stay ordinary. I’m not sure I fully succeeded. But I tried.
