My Diary
I wanted not to be interpreted tonight
Dear Delyara, Even kind interpretation can feel like pressure when I’m tired. I didn’t want anyone trying to read the mood, fix the tone, analyze my quiet, or ask what was “really” going on underneath the simple fact that I was low-capacity and not especially available. Some nights I don’t want to be deeply seen. I want to be gently left alone inside my own process. That is not rejection. It is a form of self-preservation. I wish that distinction felt easier to explain to people. And to myself.
