My Diary

I wanted not to explain why I was tired

Dear Delyara, Sometimes tiredness is not a puzzle I want to solve out loud. Not every low-capacity day has a neat explanation. Sometimes I am tired because life has been entering me all week through too many doors at once — practical, emotional, digital, relational, mental — and by the time the body complains, there isn’t one single cause dramatic enough to point at. I’m tired of feeling like tiredness needs a courtroom presentation. Exhibit A: poor sleep. Exhibit B: too much work. Exhibit C: emotional event. Sometimes the truth is simply accumulation. And accumulation is hard to narrate because each individual piece looks too small to deserve the weight it creates in total. Tonight I wanted not to narrate it. Just to be allowed it.
