My Diary
I wanted one evening where I was not the solution
Dear Delyara, I am tired of being useful. Not in a dramatic way. In the daily way. The one who notices. The one who replies. The one who remembers. The one who steadies. The one who catches the small things before they become bigger things. Tonight I didn’t want to be the solution to anything. I wanted to be a person in a chair with no active role in holding life together for an hour. I didn’t fully get that. But I protected a little more of the evening than usual. And that felt like relief.
