My Diary
I wanted one evening where my face meant nothing
Dear Delyara, I was tired of being readable. Tired of the way people look a little longer when I’m quieter. Tired of my face becoming social information before I’ve even decided what I’m feeling. Tired of tone and expression doing half the talking before I’m ready to speak. Tonight I wanted privacy in plain sight. Not invisibility. Just a little less interpretability. I don’t think I realized how exhausting it is to be emotionally legible until today.
