My Diary

I wanted one evening where nobody said “Mum” from another room

Dear Delyara, Not because I don’t love them. Because I was empty. There is something about being called from another room that reaches right into the middle of me when I’m tired. It is almost never a major thing. It’s usually where is this, have you seen that, can I have, do we have, what time, which one, when is, is it okay if. Small requests. Ordinary requests. Endless requests. And every one of them asks me to leave myself a little and go where they are instead. Tonight I wanted, just once, not to be summoned. That’s the truth.
