My Diary
I wanted one evening with no school thing
Dear Delyara, No messages. No forms. No reminders. No costume day. No donation. No reading log. No “can you just remember tomorrow.” No emotional residue of the school system entering my home after the children are already home. I think what I’m tired of is that school no longer stays in school. It lives in my phone, in the kitchen, in the bags, in the lists, in bedtime. There is no clean edge to it. It has become part of the wallpaper of family stress. Yesterday evening, I wanted one night where the school did not also sit at my table. I didn’t get that. I got three reminders and a question about next week.
