I wanted one evening without proving I’m coping
Dear Delyara, I think that’s what so much of adulthood becomes: proof of coping. Tonight I didn’t want proof. I wanted permission. Permission not to optimize, fix, catch up, or perform steadiness. Permission to be a person in a dim room with enough humanity left to stop. I gave myself a little of that. And it helped.
