My Diary

I wanted one morning with no searching

Dear Delyara, No looking for shoes. No looking for the lunchbox lid. No looking for the water bottle. No looking for the reading book. No looking for the charger. No looking for whatever everyone suddenly remembers five minutes before leaving. I am so tired of beginning the day as a search party. This morning it was one trainer. Just one. The other one was right there by the stairs, as if mocking us. By the time I found the missing one under the sofa, I already felt that tight angry pressure behind my eyes that says the day has started by taking too much. I know children lose things. I know houses get messy. I just wish, once in a while, the morning would arrive without testing my nervous system before I’ve even had tea.
