My Diary

I wanted one person to say “you don’t have to explain it”

Dear Delyara, I think what I wanted most today was not advice, not comfort exactly, not a solution. I wanted someone to say, “You don’t have to explain it.” Because some feelings become heavier the moment they must be translated into neat language. They lose something true when I have to package them too quickly, too clearly, too reasonably for another person to understand. Sometimes I don’t know what I feel in clean enough terms to explain it without reducing it. So I stayed vague. And then I felt lonely. And then I got frustrated at how common that cycle still is in me. Somewhere in all this, I think what I’m really longing for is gentleness before clarity.
