My Diary
I wanted one room where my life wasn’t waiting for me
Dear Delyara, That sounds impossible, I know. But that’s what I wanted. A room without reminders. Without surfaces holding evidence. Without practical life standing quietly in corners asking to be resumed. I wanted a room that did not already know me through what I still hadn’t done. I think that’s why hotel rooms sometimes feel restful even when everything else doesn’t. They don’t know your unfinishedness. Tonight I wanted that kind of neutrality and couldn’t find it fully. So I made a corner softer and pretended for a little while.
