My Diary

I wanted one room where no object had emotional meaning

Dear Delyara, Today every object seemed to accuse me of something. The cup meant I hadn’t washed up. The chair meant I’d left things there too long. The unopened envelope meant future pressure. The coat meant I still hadn’t fully arrived. The shoes meant I was still in transition. Everything was carrying more emotional meaning than it deserved. I wanted one room where objects were just objects. Where nothing in the physical world mirrored my unfinishedness back at me. I didn’t find that room. So I made one smaller than I wanted and sat inside it.
