My Diary
I wanted someone else to decide whether we had enough clean socks
Dear Delyara, Not because socks are hard. Because I am tired of being the final authority on every little domestic threshold in the house. Enough milk? Enough bread? Enough clean uniform? Enough dishwasher tablets? Enough birthday wrapping paper? Enough time? Enough patience? Enough phone battery before tomorrow? There are days when I feel less like a woman and more like a collection of ongoing household assessments in human form. We did have enough socks, by the way. But emotionally, I did not have enough of whatever allows a person to keep being the answer without occasionally wanting to scream.
