My Diary

I wanted someone else to notice first

Dear Delyara, That’s the kind of care I was craving. Not dramatic rescue. Not a long emotional conversation. Just someone else noticing first. The mug that needs washing. The thing that needs remembering. The fact that I’m too tired to be the one holding the room together so neatly. The subtle way my energy had dropped below the level I was pretending it was still at. I’m tired of always being the one who catches the little falling things in time. Tonight I wanted to be the one who didn’t have to notice. That felt almost luxurious to imagine.
