My Diary
I wanted someone to come home to
Dear Delyara, Tonight I wanted someone to come home to me. Not in a dramatic romance-film way. In an ordinary human way. Another pair of shoes by the door. Another glass in the sink. Someone to say “Long day?” and already know what kind of silence I’m in. Someone whose presence would make the house feel less like a container for one person’s thoughts. I can handle solitude. That isn’t the issue. It’s just that sometimes solitude feels less like freedom and more like too much room for one person’s heart.
