My Diary

I wanted someone to cook for me and not make a big deal of it

Dear Delyara, Not a romantic gesture. Not a nurturing speech. Not “let me take care of you” with music underneath it. Just this: sit down, I’ve made enough for you too. That ordinary kind of care. The kind that doesn’t require me to become emotionally notable in order to receive it. Sometimes I think the deepest things I want are embarrassingly simple. And maybe that’s why they hurt a little.
