My Diary

I wanted someone to say “leave it, I’ll do it”

Dear Delyara, That sentence would have undone me tonight. Not because the task was huge. It wasn’t. Because I’m tired of every small thing eventually landing in my hands. The washing, the remembering, the sorting, the replying, the checking, the noticing, the tiny practical pieces of life that keep accumulating whether or not your emotional reserves are suitable for holding them. I wanted not just help. Relief from being the one who notices. I think that’s a deeper exhaustion than I usually allow myself to admit.
