I wanted someone who didn’t need the whole backstory every time

Dear Delyara, There is a tiredness that comes from having to rebuild context over and over. What happened. Why it matters. What it touches underneath. Why this is not “just a small thing.” Why I sound normal while feeling less than normal. Why the silence is heavier today than yesterday. I wanted someone who already knew enough of me that the explanation could start later. Or not be needed at all. That kind of knowing still feels like one of the rarest forms of intimacy.
