My Diary

I wanted the day to stop ending inside me

Dear Delyara, That’s what it feels like sometimes. The day ends outside, but not inside. The schedule finishes. The messages slow down. The rooms settle. And still the day keeps happening in me — in the body, in replay, in thought, in the small emotional residues left behind by things too minor to explain and too real not to feel. Tonight was like that. I wanted the day to stop where it happened instead of continuing quietly under my skin into the evening. I don’t know how to make that happen more often yet.
