My Diary
I wanted the evening not to ask for redemption
Dear Delyara, Some evenings feel like they demand I redeem the day. Do something useful. Make up for the missed thing. Recover the mood. Fix the atmosphere. Turn the last few hours into proof that I am still handling life correctly. Tonight I didn’t want redemption. I wanted release. I think that’s an important distinction. One comes from shame. The other comes from mercy. For once, I chose the second one. And I’m trying not to apologize for it.
